The Evangelical Friends Church organization has a single purpose: helping local churches meet the spiritual needs of the people in their communities. To this end, the World Outreach Center in Canton, Ohio, serves the 14,000 EFC-ER church members, working to fulfill Jesus' Great Commission to mobilize, equip, and send workers to spread the love of Jesus.

EFC-ER actively participates in a larger group of Friends worldwide, known as Evangelical Friends Church - North America (EFI-NA).

Our Beliefs

The Evangelical Friends Church does not advance new teachings or doctrines. Instead, we seek to rediscover New Testament teachings and apply these age-old truths to our lives. As Friends we believe:

-God is our Father.

-Jesus Christ is "the Word made flesh" for us.

-The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Strengthener, and Guide.

-The Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by Him.

-A person receives forgiveness through repentance for sins and belief in Jesus Christ as Savior.

-The mission of the Church is to communicate the Good News of Salvation to people everywhere.

Our History

In the 1600s, George Fox founded the Friends, centered on this Truth: Christ has come to teach His people Himself. Christianity is not about a set of doctrines or rituals, but is centered on a relationship with a living Person. Christ calls us then to live out a life of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, and Equality.

Friends, though never many, have been inspired to great works - becoming a voice of conscience on such issues as slavery, women's rights, the treatment of prisoners, and religious liberty.

Today, Evangelical Friends continue to emphasize the importance of a relationship with and obedience to the Risen Christ Within which calls us to minister for the good of all people, regardless their race, nationality, sex, social status, or affluence.
